On 10th of September 2017, the University of Zakho was honored to be in the 1st place among 21 universities in Iraq Kurdistan Region at (Falling Walls Lab Erbil) conference. This is after Dr. Ahmad H. Ibrahim from the University of Zakho was able to present his project within 3 minutes only and got the first place among all other participants.

It is worth mentioning that this event was organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in cooperation with the University of Kurdistan in Hewler and supported by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and the Falling Walls Foundation. The 1st place Winner in this conference will participate in the final Falling Walls Lab Conference in Berlin, Germany on 8th of November 2017, and all his/her expense will be covered by DAAD organization. In addition to this, in Germany the competition will start between the best 100 Scholars worldwide at Falling Walls Lab Berlin Conference.
